Vanlife Research did not go according to plan

After announcing our alternative lifestyle idea we have been on a mission to research it more fully and also take on board some of the suggestions form others.

Including visiting a Campervan showroom.Β  Although we will be doing a van conversion, visiting and looking at Campervans was great for size comparisons, design ideas and to help the girls get a bit of an idea of scale in terms of space or rather the lack thereof!

Our original plan was to visit 3-4 Campervan showrooms but our plans were cut short after visiting just the first one.Β  I liked some of the layout designs of the ones we did get to see. The video footage and photos will also help when I get back home and can add it all to the growing resource file.Β  There were also some great takeaways and it was fab to get everyone on board and discussing their ideas.

Cut short

We had to cut the visit short though as Alina was feeling poorly and she just wanted to go to bed.Β  So, we headed back home and will try and do this more fully another time.

Mark and I had also watched an online auction to compare van types, prices, spec etc… which was also invaluable research.

The Fund is on!

Everything we have done so far has been great in helping us to really determine whether this is the right move for us and the girls.Β  Probably one of the biggest wins on the emotional scale was selling our first item and that money being put into the Vanlife fund.

We have been listing items on ebay and have been sorting through the house to get ready for a car boot too.Β  Although, I have to say I am looking forward to the decluttering as much as I am looking forward to the money being added to the pot!
