Installing VW Sprinter Seats to our Iveco Daily Van Conversion – Week 3

We brought two VW Sprinter Seats for our Iveco Daily Van Conversion. So, that means we have seats for the girls!  If you have been following our journey then you will know the seats for the girls has been one of our biggest challenges to date.

However, a good clean brought them back to looking like new.  We have a Vax Rapid Carpet Cleaner.

We would not be without our Vax Rapid Carpet Cleaner! It has been so handy for the house, cars and the van.  Any clean ups can easily be completed on our time frame as opposed to needing to wait to hire one and with a few uses it makes it much more cost effective too.

For cleaner we just used up one that was in the cupboard and then went on to the Vax Ultra.  I like the smell of this one and it cleans well.  We have also used the Vax Original Pet version but I choose the Ultra if I can.

We do have to make an adjustment to both seats as they have one 3-point seatbelt and one laptop seat belt on each chair.  So, Mark is going to add another 3-point seatbelt in at a later date.

The Flooring

For the floor, as you will have seen in week 2’s post we used rust protection first.  Then started to lay the batons using 2×1 timber. We brought ours from B&Q at lengths of 1.8 meters.

This week we finished the batons and then started to lay the Celotex which is to insulate the floor. When doing a van conversion you’ll want to keep moisture at bay but keep the heat in. Celotex is a good insulator and will help to keep the heat in for as long as possible.  We will go through insulating the walls and roof of the van in another post.

Once the celotex was laid we sealed all the edges with aluminium foil tape which helps to stop any moisture getting in.

After a few people from our Facebook Page asked about the products we used I created an easy to shop Van Build List on our Amazon Shop we may get a small commission when you click on our links at no additional cost to you and as always appreciate your support.

Join us in Week 4 Part 1 and Week 4 Part 2 to see how our Iveco Daily van Conversion is progressing.  If you missed week 2 we shared rust protecting the floor.
