Iveco Daily Van Conversion Week 2

Welcome to our Iveco Daily Van Conversion Week 2.  The video is out now and it’s already getting exciting! We managed to get a fridge from Facebook Market Place.  The Waeco CR50 is a 48 litre fridge with a small freezer compartment. The fridge is brand new and was originally unused in a boat.  Facebook Market Place and Ebay have already been invaluable sources for bargains, although if you caught one of our previous videos we shared that not all is always as it seems!

We also made a start on the battens for the floor. Mark shares why he changed the original layout.

Rust Protection

A lot of our time has been spent on protecting the floor with rust protection.  We painted anywhere there were holes from the screws from the original battens. We also painted anywhere the metal was exposed from dents etc… The rust protection paint will protect the metal from rusting any more. Our van is a 2004 so the prep work will go a long way in protecting the longevity.

Hammerite Rust protection is what we used which you can find in our Van Build List on Amazon.  We created the list to help you find your Van Conversion items all in one easy to find place.  It is something we would have found super helpful. We will keep adding to the list throughout the conversion process.  One area that we spend so much of our time on is research, whether that be on how to do something, what to use or where to get it, so, happy to reduce that for you!

The wheel-arch’s also got their ‘makeover’ with some vapour barrier.  Most of van has insulation as well as a vapour barrier.  Foil tape is one item that we completely underestimated usage of.  We have already gone through so much!  We use is to ensure that the vapour barrier is completely sealed.

Join us in Week 3 to see how our Iveco Daily van Conversion is progressing.  If you missed week 1 we shared the design challenges and what we needed to do to prep the van
