Castle Trip Planning

Day 5 of Home School and we are castle Trip Planning.  We wanted to incorporate as much experience learning as we could for the girls so we bought and English Heritage Membership.  Mark is on holiday for a few days so we thought a castle trip would be perfect.

The War Room

Mark was in his element (to begin with!) calling the girls to the ‘war room’ to plan out the trip.  He helped them to go through planning for distance as well as all that was needed. Food was mentioned a lot. Followed by more suggestions of food and snacks!  Alina clearly also wants to visit Totnes castle, you will have to watch the video to get the reference!

Mark learnt that keeping the girls attention as a group was super challenging but we also got to witness where the gaps are in the girls education so far.

Embarrassment

Grace got really embarrassed that she didn’t know about distance and time and while we were trying to help her she just initially started to shut down.  We persevered with helping and trying to build her confidence and it was only when watching the video back you can clearly see her getting lower and lower in her chair until we helped her through it and you see her suddenly sit up right. Communication is so much more than words, body language can tell you so much if you are patient and observant enough.
