This afternoon, I wandered out into the garden to gather what’s likely the final flush of spring colour, the last of the spring blooms. The bluebells have mostly faded now, with just a few stragglers holding on, their soft bells nodding in the breeze. The rosemary, still in bloom, has been one of my favourite accents this season—its tiny blossoms and fragrant stems add a beautiful, unexpected touch to a bouquet. I picked what I could find knowing they would bring a bit more joy indoors whilst also feeling a little sad that the beauty of these flowers is almost over.

Back indoors, I began arranging the flowers in a few of my favourite jugs—two of which I only found yesterday in our local charity shop. I’m always drawn to pieces with a bit of character and there’s something I just love about giving old things a new life. One is a classic white jug with a softly fluted rim, simple and elegant. The other, with delicate shades of green and a faint glaze, lifts the whole room with its gentle charm. And then there’s the tiniest of vessels—one of my favourites—not from a shop at all, but found by Grace and brought home like treasure. That little pot now holds a humble sprig of rosemary and some soft heather, standing proudly as part of this small seasonal moment.

Together, these blooms and jugs felt like a conversation between seasons—spring saying its gentle goodbye and summer whispering its approach.
I took a few quiet moments to photograph them in the soft light and I’m sharing them here not just for their beauty but because they remind me to slow down. To notice. To treasure the little things—the flowers still blooming, the jugs waiting to be found and the simple joy of bringing the outside in.

Why I Love Charity Shop Finds
As I mentioned there’s something special about giving new life to old things. Charity shops are full of hidden gems and I’ve really been enjoying keeping an eye out for anything that might add a little character to our home. The two jugs now adorned with flowers were overlooked by most—but I saw their potential and now they’ve been given a place of honour in our kitchen.

Simple Joys in the Everyday
As I look at these little arrangements now, scattered across windowsills and shelves, I’m reminded of how much joy can be found in the simplest things—a few fading flowers, a jug with a story, a quiet moment to slow down.
If you’ve got a patch of garden, a windowsill box or even just a few weeds with character growing nearby, I hope you feel inspired to gather something today. You don’t need much—just a moment and a vessel you love.
Thanks for spending a bit of your time here with me. I’d love to know—do you have a favourite jug or a recent charity shop treasure? Or perhaps a flower that always makes its way into your home? Feel free to share in the comments or tag me on Instagram—I always enjoy seeing what others are finding beauty in too.
Until next time, may your day hold something lovely and unexpected.
